The “Do’s & Don’ts of successful training are…
Do’s…
1. Always say your dog’s name 1st
before issuing any command. |
2. Always make your training
sessions “fun” for your dog or puppy. |
3. Always work your dog ‘on lead’
when training. |
4. Always end an obedience
session on a positive note. |
5. Always give your dog effusive praise when they ‘ do it right’. |
Don’ts…
1. Never train with treats. It
ends up bribing the dog to be good. |
2. Never call your dog to you…to
correct it. |
3. Never think any question, is
too dumb to ask! |
4. Never correct your dog ‘from
the top’…always the bottom. |
5. Never think your dog is
human…it’s a dog, folks! |
